After moving house, we discovered that in our new garden there are MILLIONS of locusts-literally, millions. There is no easy way to get rid of them and they eat all your plants. There are two different generations in our garden at the moment: adults (which are HUGE) and little ones, only a few weeks old. Joy-Summer, my little sister, loves them and she will often come into the house with a handful of the little ones. My mother opened the cupboard the other day, only to find a bowlful of baby locusts-who knows how long they’ve been there! Well, I guess that that is one way to get rid of them, collect them in little bowls and leave them in the cupboard until they die, but somehow, I don’t think that that’s the kindest way to do it, we don’t want to be cruel. We’ve heard that they die in hot water…we’ll think about it…
